November 2009
Al's latest album Scheherazade continues to delight listeners. Many want to know when Al's next album will be released. The tentative release date for the upcoming album is September/October 2010.
While progress on the album continues, we wil be sharing with you not only news, but also some new music samples from the album not found anywhere else. The samples will be shared with you through Al's e-newsletter, so be sure to sign up and stay up to date!
July 2009
Recently, Al's latest album Scheherazade was a featured selection on WMNR Radio, which broadcasts throughout New York and Connecticut, and worldwide through on-line live streaming. This is Al's second album to be a featured selection on this prestigious station, which usually features classical music, but has a show dedicated to New Age and World Music hosted by Dick Hageman.
Meanwhile Al, is on a brief hiatus from work on the next album. Some work will continue, such as photography sessions which will take place in Upper Normandy, France, within the next month as well as meetings with European producers. We will bring you more news about this in upcoming postings!
March 2009:
Shadowside Music is delighted to announce that Al's album Scheherazade has won the 2008 New Age Reporter Lifestyle Music Award for Best World Album!
The awards, held every year, are presented to artists in a number of categories and voted on by broadcasters worldwide.
Scheherazade was also nominated for Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Instrumental Album and Best Album Cover.
Al and the entire Shadowside Music team, wish to personally thank all the broadcasters that have been so incredibly supportive and who voted for the album.
Congratulations also go out to all the other nominees and winners whose works continue to provided listeners with the best in music.
January 2009:
Scheherazade, which quickly rose to number 1 on the New Age Reporter's Top 100 Chart, remained there for three consecutive months in October, November and December 2008.
NewAgeMusic.nu has praised the album, stating "Scheherazade has taken the new age music scene by storm." Al's latest album has also made dozens of 'Top 10' and 'Best of 2008' lists on radios and webzines all over the world. Reviewers have called the album 'astonishing,' 'highly recommended,' best album I've heard this year,' and 'a joy to listen to.'
At Shadowside Music, we are all very proud of Al's dedication to his work. The success of Scheherazade has prompted Al to shelve his plans to take some time off. He has already begun to work on a new album, tentatively scheduled to be released later this year or in early 2010.
December 2008:
We are thrilled to report that, for the month of October November and December, Sheherazade, Al's new CD remained at number one on the New Age Reporter Top 100 chart! Al's new album has also been garnering wonderful praise from radios and reviewers alike.
Scheherazade has taken the new age music world by storm! The album's music can now be heard on cable's MUSIC CHOICE, the leading multi-platform music network reaching millions of people nationwide, and on its Canadian counterpart, CBC's Galaxie network as well as on SIRIUS Satellite Radio. Al has also recently signed contracts with MUZAK, DMX and other licensing companies which broadcast music throughout thousands of commercial venues such as professional offices, airlines and retail environments.
Meanwhile, sales have been brisk evidencing the album's broad global appeal within the USA and Canada and even as far as Australia and New Zealand!
